The Tide is composed of articles written by members of the Rocky Hill School community. A majority of the articles are written by our student contributors, but publication is open to anyone from Rocky Hill. Pascale Burnett is in 10th grade at Rocky Hill School and is excited to be a co-editor in chief of The Tide. She joined The Tide to pursue her passion for writing and journalism. Pascale enjoys writing about controversial issues and reflecting the opinions of Rocky Hill community members. Pascale’s other interests are limited to wearing sweaters and eating cheese.

Cortlandt Meyerson became a writer for the The Tide this school year (2017-2018) as a sophomore because of his interest in influential writing and discussion of controversial topics. Points of interest about his personal life include that he is a competitive swimmer, head of 3D design club, and has travelled to more than 25 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Troy Johnson is a 9th grade banana enthusiast at Rocky Hill School and one of The Tide’s newest contributors. Expressing a general disregard for personal safety, he’s almost never afraid to get down, dirty, or dangerous to get some good material. Testing limits is his forte, and he doesn’t hesitate to see what the rules really are. He enjoys sitcoms and helping out wherever he can.

Neha Basu is a sophomore at Rocky Hill and is looking forward to joining The Tide team this year as an editor. While she has written in the past, she is looking to expand her literary resume and use her skill set in a new and exciting way. She anticipates with excitement all of the wonderful writing that she will be exposed to in the editing process. Outside of The Tide, Neha can be found on the stage or in the kitchen, baking yummy desserts.

Jake Watson is a junior at Rocky Hill and a new editor of The Tide. This is his fourth year now at Rocky Hill, and he joined The Tide staff in order to further contribute to and impact his community. Some interesting facts about Jake are that he was born and raised in the state of Georgia, he has an addiction to Hot Pockets, and is often referred to as simply Watson throughout the high school.

Manny Maldonado is an 11th grader at Rocky Hill School and is a new addition the The Tide. He joined The Tide to further connect with the Rocky Hill community, and to gain more experience in writing. His interests include being involved in stage productions, and binge-watching shows on Netflix. He is also the best Smash 4 player in the school, so feel free to challenge him.
